Why I Write and Strive to do Other Creative Things

My god people. I'm writing verse...

Anyway - here it is...

It can start as just a barely perceptible itch
That one cannot quite scratch
Then the first skritch-skritch of pen on paper,
That scratch of graphite on vellum
That first clickety-clackety of the keyboard,

That initial thought gotten down
That becomes a raging torrent of words
Pouring forth so fast
That my aching fingers cannot keep up.
Then at last the paper, the ink and I are sated, satisfied.
